Minneriya
Minneriya National Park is best known for one of the most spectacular wildlife spectacles in Asia, the elephant Gathering, when hundreds of elephants converge on the Minneriya tank’s receding shoreline between July and October. This seasonal migration, driven by water and food availability, can bring over 300 elephants into view in a single afternoon.
Udawalawe
Udawalawe National Park is the finest destination for wild elephant encounters. The open grasslands, scrub, and reservoir edges support a population of over 500 elephants, visible year-round in large herds that gather at the water’s edge in the morning and evening.
