Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s largest national park, an undulating wilderness of lakes, grasslands, and dry-zone forest that few visitors to the island ever see. Its unique natural villus (water-filled natural pools) create habitats and dramatic scenery. Leopard sightings are excellent here, and the park is also home to elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer and a variety of birds.
